The Wara Straw Dinosaurs are Back in Sendai!
In an incredibly creative exhibition, artists create jaw-dropping works of art using rice straw harvested from the coastal areas of Wakabayashi Ward, Sendai, which were severely damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. Not only is this a sustainable project, but it also serves as a symbol for the reconstruction of the area. The featured Straw art includes terrifying dinosaur creations, such as the Tyrannosaurus or Triceratops, as well as other intruiging animals too. Last year, about 80,000 people visited the exhibition, which has since become quite the popular event in Sendai!
Come and check out these powerful works of art, some measuring up to 3 meters high and 5 meters long!
