Miyako Bus brings us their handy Koyogo bus again this year, so you can get to Miyagi's must-see fall foliage spot, Naruko Gorge, more easily!
The leaves in Miyagi are starting to change, signaling the arrival of koyo season! Fortunately, Miyako Bus is once again offering its seasonal "Koyogo" shuttle, making it easy to reach the must-see autumn scenery of Naruko Gorge.
The shuttle runs between Naruko Onsen Station and Nakayamadaira Station, with convenient stops along the way.
To get to the Naruko area from Sendai Station, take the JR Tohoku Line and transfer to the Rikuuto Line at Furukawa Station. That takes about two and a half hours. If you're short on time and don't mind the extra cost, you can also take the bullet train to Furukawa Station, which will cut the trip down to 1 hour 15 minutes.
It takes a little while to get to the Naruko area from Sendai, but the Koyogo Bus makes it easy to get around Naruko itself. It’s just 350 yen from Naruko Onsen Station, or 190 yen from Nakayamadaira Station, to the spectacular Naruko Gorge.
For more shuttle details, see the schedule below.
While you’re in the area, why not visit a kokeshi doll workshop and take a relaxing dip one of the many hot springs, which Naruko is also famous for! Check out the articles below to learn more about the Naruko area.
