Izumi Ward Fall Events

October 2022・Location: Izumi Ward, Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture...

The Izumi Rice Fest will be held once again this year in celebration of this year's rice harvest. The festival will feature a mochitsuki taikai (餅つき大会 rice cake pounding event), freshly cooked rice wagashi ponzu sweets and delicious beer made of rice! A wide variety of stalls selling all kinds of items will also be participating in the event!

Hours: 10:00–15:00

Izumi Ward's Nanakita Park will come alive on 3 consecutive Sundays this October! The event features hot air balloons, mouth watering food trucks and stalls as well as various workshops, such as Kokerium moss terrarium making and medaka fishing! In the evening, the park will be illuminated with twinkling lights in a light up event (details below)!

Due to covid, the Izumi Ward Residents' Furusato Festival was cancelled this year. In its place, this illumination event will be held for residents to create memories in Izumi Ward. Participants will have the opportunity to release an LED lanterns into the nights sky with their wishes written on them. Come and enjoy the illumination in Izumi Ward's Nakakita Park!
