Discover the wonders of the Tohoku Region at this exclusive event in Sendai!
The Highway Festa Tohoku is an annual event bringing together food, local performing arts and entertainment, as well as the local products native to the six prefectures of the Tohoku Region, all connected by highways. This event was created with the ambition of sharing the wonders of the Tohoku Region with the hopes of promoting tourism in the area as well as deepening inter-regional exhanges between the concerned prefectures.
Be prepared for an event filled with new tastes, sights, and sounds where you can try out the delicious foods, enjoy the performing arts, and discover the local mascots unique to each prefecture! Alongside tourism booths, a special stage performance featuring Sendai's Bushoutai (samurai performers who re-enact historical events) will also be featured on the day of the event. Be sure to keep your eye's peeled for Fukushima's mobile aquarium "Aquamarine" at the ikoi-no-zone 'rest stop'!
