The fall foliage in Matsushima has begun to change which means the coming weeks are a great time to check out the fantastic annual light up event at Entsuin Temple!
Entsuin Temple’s fall illumination, showcases breathtaking autumn colors across its historic gardens, honoring Date Mitsumune, the grandson of Date Masamune. This year, visitors are invited to participate in the 2024 Entsuin Autumn Photo Contest by sharing their photos on Instagram with #円通院紅葉2024フォトコンテスト, with outstanding entries receiving special recognition.
Highlights include the garden, where illuminated maple trees create a serene atmosphere, and Shinji Pond, where maple reflections offer a stunning upside-down view. The Sankeiden Mausoleum and the Zen Meditation Garden add to this unforgettable autumn experience. Also, enjoy live music amidst these vibrant, illuminated scenes.
